Hey, Ona, love the birds! Well, now I understand a lot that I didn’t before, and can put some of your more cryptic answers recently in context. Plus good to hear about your “I want to be baptized” moment!

  • Ona Says:

    Thanks, Laurel.

    Hi Ona and Tom

good stuff, but too short! :)

Yeah, the maps… But then, what is a practice if not the present application or expression of some map?

    Cheers,
    Florian

    • Ona Says:

Florian, That’s an interesting definition of practice, hm… liking it at the moment anyway.

There were a thousand things we didn’t get to in our chat, for sure. Maybe another time. :)

      Hey Florian!

Thanks. We could have definitely gone on for longer. In fact we did, but after that it was more chit chat than podcast. The length is partly to keep a balance, some people prefer shorter, some longer. And also the fact that it’s less work for me editing the final audio!

      tom :)

    Hey Oona,
I’ve been thinking about you often lately and it’s great to hear you and connect. Always something helpful in it!

Thought of you a) when the Pope was in Brazil. How was that for you? and b) when I heard about a workshop being offered about Our Lady Undoer of Knots. I think you have something about her on your magic site. So I was so excited to learn some Catholic magic, but the nun who led the retreat didn’t hardly know anything about that type of Mary. Had her own agenda instead. Still it gave me something and now I’ll have to find out more on your site.
    Thanks for everything,
    Ella

  • Ona Says:

Hi Ella – glad you enjoyed it. The World Youth Day thing was fun – I did a lot of translation work and got to have some private conversations with English-speaking clergy which were very interesting.

Your workshop sounds mysterious! Hope you are well!

Finally got a chance to listen to the whole thing. Thank you for the interview. It made me laugh a lot. Esp. the part about the boy tearing the paper. It reminded me of a hilarious clip of babies trying lemon for the first time. :P :

Thank you for this quirky non pretentious easy to listen to interview. You are both lovely people. I am a Christian who has been deeply interested in the non dual so for me Ona your story is interesting. I have practiced centering prayer for quite some time now. I think it is called heartfulness now and it has little nuances which give it a Christian edge – like the idea of intention of the heart towards God being central and not at-tention.
Also (although not in your interview) often the tension arises between (1) the non dual unitive spaciousness – no-thingness and being nothing but everything … And (2) the particularity of individual things in nature, personhood and their intrinsic value and reality often referred to with negative implications as ‘a dream.’
I find my Christian trinitarian view helps to give equal value to both – the Father being the non dual mystery (Jesus said ‘no man has seen the Father’) -The indefinable primal cause without form and void – chaos as in Genesis 1 – the Unmanifested. …. And The Son is the Manifested, the incarnated One hallowing all that is material in all its particularity. The Spirit – well I haven’t worked that one out yet but I reckon could be the out loving energy which is communicated from the Father and Son.
The trinity in my view bridges the dualism between non-dualism and dualism. God is revealed as both and this brings perfect reconciliation in love.
I have never put this in words before so sorry if they appear confusing but I reckon Ona you may identify with these ideas from your life experience. Thank you again for the interview :)

Thanks for your response, Bruce. I’m traveling without a keyboard, so disinclined to type long responses. But your comment seemed thoughtful and I enjoyed reading it. I’ll write a longer ponder when I’m back from my trip.
